Description: Schiaparelli late 1960's or early 1970's American made brooch and matching clip earrings set; a gold plated triple leaf brooch with matching single leaf earrings. The leaves are all pavé set with dozens of sparkling clear rhinestones. The gold stem of the brooch sweeps across the leaf and has a large simulated pearl set at the end, and the earrings have a curling stem with a pearl at the bottom. The brooch is signed with an incorrectly spelled 'Schaparelli©' tag, and these misspelled tags resulted in the company rejecting these pieces and selling them outside of usual retail stores. They were long thought to be fakes, but they are not, they are legit Schiaparelli pieces made for the American market (in this case made by Lisner). However, the misspelled name was a problem, so they were sold 'out the back door' as rejects, and ended up filtering into the open market in the 1970's..
