Description: Victorian matched pair of gold filled bypass bracelets or bangles. Each bracelet features a different miniature cameo against a black ground mounted in a rectangular frame that hides the hinge. The bands criss-cross through the frame with gold filled chain detain between and an decorative element joining the two. The ends of the bypass would have had some decorative element or knob, now missing which is not unusual. The original marks are completely worn away on one bracelet, but you can still read the 1878 date on the other. Bracelets in matched pairs such as these were popular with Victorian bride's and intact pairs are tough to find.
